Residents of Baruipur Benefit from Cardiac Medical Camp

A cardiac medical camp was successfully organized at The Ramnagar Milan Sangha Club, Ramnagar, Ghosh Para, Baruipur on 1st May, 2011 by Punarnabha Bangla (a civil society initiative to revive the glory of Bengal by empowering the people to take leadership and accelerate the social, cultural and economic development of the region) in association with The Rabindranath Tagore Institute of Cardiac Sciences.

The camp was organized to make available cardiac check-up for poor people who do not have access to proper medical services in the area.

The outcome of the medical camp was positive with around 62 patients turning up for the check-up. They were offered blood pressure, weight measurement and ECG checks and were examined for different kinds of cardiac ailments. Around 8 people were recommended for further treatment at The Rabindranath Tagore Institute of Cardiac Sciences.

The volunteers of Punarnabha Bangla used the camp as an opportunity to spread awareness about Punarnabha Bangla and the Light a Lamp project. Mr Anup Agarwal acquainted all with the mission of the project and encouraged everyone to be a part of the same. The residents of the area, enthused by his speech requested that the Light a Lamp project be initiated in the area soon.
